Errata

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 8 "Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs)"

The first statement below is now incorrect:
Microsoft Certified Professionals get their certificates by passing a Microsoft exam based on a Windows server or desktop operating system.

The statement should read:
Effective October 1, 1998 (and retroactively), the Microsoft Certified Professionals certification requirements changed. The earlier requirement required the successful completion of an exam based on a Windows server or desktop operating system. Now a candidate becomes a MCP on passing any current Microsoft exam, with the single exception of Networking Essentials (70-058). This change is retroactive to anyone ever passing any current Microsoft exam except Networking Essentials.

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 39 "Sources of Additional Information"

Compuserve has re-named the target site, and the old command still works:

GO MSEDCERT is obsolete

GO MEC is correct

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 102 "For Review"

The statement below is incorrect:
You can convert from FAT to NTFS but never NTFS back to FAT without reinstalling Windows NT.

The statement should read:
You can convert from FAT to NTFS but never NTFS back to FAT.

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 259 "The Spooler is confused"

The correct path to reset the spooler is
Start | Settings | Control Panel | Services | Spooler | select Stop | then select Start

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 318 "Virtual Memory"

The correct path to reconfigure your Virtual Memory settings is
Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Performance | Change

[Accelerated MCSE Server Errata] page 339 "Alerts"

The statement below is incorrect:
You can configure the alert to signal a user or computer by going to Server Manger (sic).

The statement should read:
Configure the alert to signal a user or computer by going to
Performance Monitor | Options | Alert
From the Alert Options dialog box check "Send network message" and fill in a Net Name:

If the Options | Alert menu option is not available, go to the View menu, select Alert and then return to the Options menu.
